Novak Djokovic currently has a 40-0 match record for the season after beating Juan Martin Del Potro in four sets in the third round of this year’s French Open. The Serb is the man to beat right now, and continues to make a case for himself as the favourite to win this competition. On current form, even the great Rafael Nadal doesn’t seem to be able to get the better of him on clay.
Djokovic’s fourth round opponent will be sixteenth seed Richard Gasquet. Gasquet has made steady progress throughout this tournament, and booked his place in round four by defeating No. 23 seed Tomaz Bellucci 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the third round. He’s playing well at the moment, but there’s no denying that he has a huge task ahead of him on Sunday.
Prior to this matchup, Djokovic has a 4-1 head to head record against Gasquet. The pairing haven’t met recently on clay, though they did meet earlier in the season at Indian Wells. Djokovic won this contest 6-2, 6-4, and should be feeling confident ahead of Sunday’s clash.
